Surgically removed waste will be given to the person accompanying. No way to dispose biological waste there. Doctors were awesome. But no structure, we had to carry our dog, ourselves to the first floor. Shaving done by the doctor himself.. Sad to see the nursing assistants or attenders make the doctor do all preparation for animals. Hope they are union members so nobody is talking about it. No attenders Or cleaners doing their duty hence we had to take his biological waste home. Wishing the minister to look into the matter make district hospital for animals a sweeter place for them
Good hospital friendly doctors and staff but low facility’s even not all testing are available there need more are and staffs do make better atmosphere lend more space lot of crowd but low staff
it was the worst experience. They refused to perform the surgery this week and asked me to come next week, even though my dog’s ear is clotting with blood and needs urgent care. It felt like they were avoiding my dog just because he is a local breed and not a fancy one. Their team was careless, unprofessional, and completely unskilled in handling dogs. They couldn’t even manage basic injections inside their cage. Very disappointing staff and service. I strongly recommend not to go there if you truly care about your pet.
I want to sincerely thank the District Veterinary Centre team for saving my puppy’s life and giving proper care when he was in a serious condition. A special thanks to Dr. Praveen, who was extremely caring, patient, and skilled. He immediately cleaned the wound properly, found out the real cause, and guided us with the right treatment. Because of his timely care and daily injections, our puppy completely recovered and became active again. Truly grateful for his dedication and kindness toward animals. However, I would also like to share a small note for other pet parents: Please be careful not to let the doctor named Soya handle injections or vaccinations for your pets. One time she gave an injection to our puppy, and right after that, he couldn’t pee, stand, or walk properly. Later, the staff informed us that it happened because she injected into the muscle instead of the right area. During that time, she was even using her phone, looking distracted and just trying to finish quickly. It was a really painful experience for our little one. Also, I noticed that the price of vaccines and medicines at the hospital pharmacy is higher than outside pharmacies, so please double-check before buying. Overall, this hospital has very good doctors like Dr. Praveen, who truly care for animals. But please be alert and make sure your pet is handled by responsible hands.
Pros: I want to specifically mention Dr. Praveen, the Veterinary Surgeon. He is an absolutely wonderful and kind doctor who handles every pet with immense care and love. His professional dedication is the only reason I am giving two stars. Cons: Unfortunately, a good doctor isn't enough when the hospital is so poorly funded. I came here to spay a stray cat to prevent further pregnancies. While a private hospital quoted 3,000 rupees, I was shocked to find that this Government District Hospital charges 4,000 rupees for the surgery alone. On top of that, I was asked to buy some surgery supplies from an outside pharmacy. Aside from the low OP registration fee (Rs.25), all other charges are as high as—or even higher than—private clinics. It is truly pathetic that a government facility lacks the funding to be more affordable than the private sector. If you are bringing a stray animal or your pet here expecting a 50% discount or government subsidy, be prepared for a shock.
