For the past 2 years, I repeatedly took my dog in with clear symptoms: coughing (including honking cough), nasal discharge, breathing trouble, and visible restlessness. I was told it was “just the weather”, a “common issue,” and was given temporary medication without a proper diagnosis or even an X-ray. Despite repeated visits, the issue kept returning. My pug was suffering at home, and I kept saying that out loud but dr Milind brushed it off saying it’s normal What’s worse is that Dr. Milind prescribed the wrong medication for his type of cough and even advised me to syringe feed the syrup directly into his mouth, even when my dog was visibly gasping for breath. Two days before things got critical, I contacted him again ,Fido was breathing heavily, tongue slightly blue, and I pleaded for urgent help. His response? “Continue the same syrup with the syringe.” That advice could’ve caused aspiration pneumonia and possibly death. ( This was told to me by other doctors in the new clinic) Thank God I listened to my gut instead. I rushed my dog to a high-end emergency clinic, and within hours, they diagnosed what the real problem was…Stage 4 Tracheal Collapse, a progressive airway disease that had likely been worsening silently for over 1–2 years. Something that could have been diagnosed early, when he was at Stage 1 or 2 — had this clinic cared enough to investigate properly.?? My Shih Tzu had been unwell since 8 January. We first took him to a doctor, but when his condition did not improve, we went to Dr. Milind Mhatre and showed him the blood reports, which indicated that his WBC count was low. However, he did not mention anything about it and only prescribed medicines for five days. Within two days, my dog completely stopped eating and drinking. When we called Dr. Milind Mhatre, he said it was normal and told us not to worry. On 14 January, my dog started having serious breathing difficulty. We contacted him again, but he still said it was normal and told us to leave the dog alone. His responses were careless and showed no urgency despite the worsening condition. Later that day, we took our dog for saline, where Dr. Milind Mhatre injected antibiotics on an empty stomach. After coming home, my dog vomited. When we called the doctor, he laughed and said he had already told us this would happen and that it was normal. That night, my dog could no longer breathe and passed away. Due to the failure to properly diagnose and treat his condition in time, we lost our pet. I am deeply hurt by the way this situation was handled and the insensitive attitude of the doctor. I sincerely request other pet parents to be cautious before trusting him with their pets’ lives.
