The DOGZ Place

We had a wonderful experience with The DOGZ Place when we enrolled Kylo in a brush-up program to prepare him for the arrival of our baby. Shalaka and Sonali took the time to thoroughly assess his strengths and weaknesses, and then designed a personalized training plan that matched both his needs and ours. The team is not just knowledgeable but also genuinely kind and compassionate. Every time we drop Kylo off with Shalaka, Sonali, and the team, we have complete peace of mind knowing he’s in the best hands!

We have an Idie pup we call Zuko. When we got her she was 35days old and we were completely clueless pet parents. We made mistakes which resulted in Zuko having trust issues with us. Situations got really bad when we went to Shalaka and Sonali for help. For the last 3years now they have patiently taught us how to handle a reactive dog. Our dog, who would not allow us to even touch her, now comes in for snuggles and pets and love. We are still working on her behaviour and the trainers are our constant support. Their help has been way far reaching than just simple training. Shalaka is a phone call away if we need anything at all, be it some medical advice or a behavourial issue. Their day care is the only place we will ever think of boarding Zuko at. Shalaka happens to be her local gaurdian as well, and I honestly believe she has more fun at the daycare than she has at home. The pet sitter’s and the Dog’s Place are our go to places for anything related to our pet. They are amazing people, and I am so so grateful for the amazing work they have done with Zuko over the years. Thank you so much!!

I enrolled My baby girl Peanut at The Dogz place for training and what a best decision it was!After we moved to Pune last year , the first thing on my mind was where will I get a second home for my doll ? Mumbai we had seen many and had kept her at many home stays as well, but Pune everything was new! But keeping her with Shalaka and Sonali was the best thing that ever happened ! They look into minute detailing of each pet as their own be it training or boarding ! Both sonali and Shalaka and their entire team take the utmost care to see that each dog or puppy is well looked after . We did the basic training for Peanut with S2 and it was so much fun . We have totally educated our second baby well and she follows almost all the commands taught to her very well now! This is the best thing that could ever happen to us. About two years ago, we noticed our two year old Indie, Zuko, showing some signs of aggression (fear of being touched, reactivity to proximity and other similar sudden outbursts). This rapidly escalated to such a level that it was impossible to be in the same room comfortably with her, without being afraid of being snapped at or being bitten. We approached Shalaka from The Dogz Place with our concern and they took an extremely patient and well structured approach into improving our relationship with her. She explained to us that the issue is not just that she is reacting , but that it is her lack of trust in us(a factor that we had never considered as possible, considering both me and my wife are extremely dog loving people). The next few weeks involved structured steps into introspecting and making sure that we are doing all we can to keep her into a safe space, so that she never feels unsafe or scared enough to react out to us. This involved basic steps such as learning and re-learning how to put on a leash on her, how to walk her, crate training, recognizing her stress signs and what to do and more importantly not to do in such cases. Bit by bit, slow and steadily, things have improved. Now she is evidently a much happier dog who voluntarily wants to come to us to cuddle, and to ask for scratches. Who loves us and asks us to love her in her own way. Kudos to the patience shown by Shalaka and the entire team. For any people reading this review, there is no "Miracle Training" which can change your dogs behavior in a week, there is only small incremental steps which help with the big picture, and these guys are extremely knowledgeable and experienced in it. Most of our dogs behavior problems are rooted in some action we are doing that causes them to develop patterns and habits. Thanks to Shalaka we were able to rectify them and provide a much happier life to Zuko and a much more trustworthy and wholesome relationship with our dog.

My Labrador, Goofy, was boarded with this amazing petsitters team for 3+ years, and I truly can't thank them enough for the incredible care they’ve provided. From the very beginning, they treated Goofy like one of their own—not just feeding and walking him, but showering him with love, attention, and affection. One of the things I appreciated most, especially while being long-distance, was the regular check-ins. They sent me videos and candid pictures of Goofy just being his goofy self—playing, training, relaxing, and getting all the cuddles. It meant the world to me and gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was happy and in great hands. They also did a fantastic job training him in the most adorable way—he came back with new tricks, better manners, and a little extra charm. Their understanding of dogs and their genuine love for what they do really shows. A special shoutout to The DOZ Place as well—for making Goofy’s transition from crate training to finally settling in the UK so smooth. The patience, consistency, and confidence they instilled in him played a huge role in helping him adjust to a completely new environment. Leaving Goofy behind was never easy, but this team made it feel like he had a second home. I wholeheartedly recommend them to any pet parent looking for reliable, loving, and professional care.
