Coconut Creek Homestay & Houseboat

Very professional and comfortable homestay. The staff here were amazing, even had a button to buzz them from the room and they’d come straight away to help. The young gentleman on reception was especially helpful and recommend a boat trip in a rowing/punting boat in the canals which we thoroughly enjoyed (400Rs per hour, would definitely recommend as was my personal highlight) Food was very nice at the homestay, prepared freshly by the cook. As other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms here were slightly smaller then some other homestays that we have stayed at before, however we found it to still be an adequate and comfortable size. Instant hot water available in the shower too and good AC in the room.

I booked a Deluxe AC 2 bedroom houseboat through Coconut Creek and was very disappointed. We set sail at 12:15pm out onto the big lake they are near. We dropped anchor in the middle of the lake from 2-4pm and then were back to the dock and anchored in for the night at 5:30pm. The next morning we didn't set sail until 8am. We went drove to the big lake then immediately turned around, went through one small backwater/canal for 10 minutes and then were docked and done with our overnight by 9am. We literally spent 10 minutes on a small canal, and only drove around the big lake for 3 hours and 15 minutes total. Not worth it to pay for the overnight on the houseboat. Only go for a daytime cruise and use a different company. The pictures on their website did not match the boat we had. They didn't communicate any sort of itinerary to us. The only positive thing was the lunch and dinner were delicious! Unfortunately, they served a Western meal for breakfast which was disappointing. I'm in India... I want Indian food, not food I can easily find back in the US!

We stayed here in 2014 and always felt bad we didn't write a review afterwards. The place is great to stay for its proximity to the backwaters and the food was just incredible. Some of the best homemade Indian food we had during our trip. The family were always really nice and it was like a proper home stay. We relaxed on the seat swings near the calm river and took in the increíble surroundings. Highly recommend !!

Everything was perfect during our stay in Coconut creek. The house is very beautiful and well decorated. The garden is extremely beautiful and all the place is very clean. Our room was spacious and very well equipped. Plus, the personal of the Homestay was very nice, and they took care of us very kindly during our stay. They helped us organize our visits of the backwaters and of Kumarakom and its where abouts. Plus, the food was delicious. Thank you very much for everything and for your kindness, we had a wonderful time!
