Nothing here is as promised. Our room AC stopped working in the middle of the night. Thankfully the night manager gave us another room immediately and told us we didn’t have to shift our things. Frankly the only reason we got decent sleep was because of him (he’s relatively new but thinks quickly) the older staff I found gave reasons and rules more than fixing the problem or admitting an error The restaurant in the first floor is adjacent to the bar. And the whole floor was filled with smoke so much so that my family couldn’t eat breakfast in the morning. I could see it last night too. Am sure it was from the bar where they either don’t have a smoking lounge or just allow patrons to smoke inside. Thankfully room service worked decently. Food is not bad There are better options in town (we tried to avoid traffic and booked here but wasn’t worth it) or head to Kumarakom if that is better.
Visited the restaurant after many years and still they maintain consistency and quality. Ajay who handled our order is great and exceeded our expectations
An extremely disappointing experience. We visited their douglas a la carte restaurant for lunch. The wait time was too long. The orders were noted incorrectly( kadai murgh instead of tandoor kadai murgh, lime juice instead of lime soda. Room temperature instead of less ice) The food was the most disappointing… the mint lime juice was a brown green, the phulkas cold and hard in the first batch, all the dishes were just a bowl of the masala… 4 small cube pieces of pork in the pork roast, 3 pieces of hard, dry chicken in the kadai murgh( prompting me to ask how old the meat was), the prawns like hard rubber pieces soaked in oil… a total disaster. A discussion with the chef gave us the excuse of them being busy because of another event happening in the hotel ( I guess the restaurant should have been closed for the day) The only saving grace was the polite serving boy. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit unless it’s the masala gravy you want…
Hotel seems run down. Have stayed here some 6 years back and was a decent hotel. Now there's hardly any guests. Food was below average.staff is friendly. Rooms lack proper maintenance.
Rooms are big, decent and amenities are adequate. Friendly staff overall. Near to railway station. One quick thing to note: if you are adding breakfast, ask them if its ALA carte. If yes, better don't. Its the worst service a restaurant can provide. I wont blame the service boys in restaurant but the management who makes them do everything including taking order, going to kitchen to fetch food and clearing plates. Food not tasty at all. Same feedback has been given to reception staff as well, hopefully management will take note
