Madpackers Amritsar

This was my first trip to india, and first stop. I've got to say that it was a great way to start. The location is hidden off the main streets but it is still within the old city and most of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. The services at the hostel are far more extensive than I expected with them providing more than just tours but also providing money exchange (charging 4-5%) , cooking classes and kite flying. The dorm rooms are like any good hostel with comfy beds and curtains to block light. Locked cupboards for your belongings. The atmosphere is social and the shared space/cafe is designed to bring people together. As others have done so, I have a special shout out for the your driver Vicky who will make you smile and laugh during your journey to the Wagah border. I'd highly recommend this hostel to family and friends.

We stayed at this hotel recently and had a wonderful experience! The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable — exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay. The service was excellent; the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The location is great — easy to reach nearby attractions, food places, and transport options. We also loved the refreshing area (relaxation spot) — it was perfect for unwinding after a long day. Overall, everything was top-notch — great value for money. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family

I stayed at this property for just one day, and the room was decent, clean, and comfortable. What truly stood out, though, were the hosts—they were absolutely amazing. Even after I checked out, I had to return to Amritsar the after 3 days as my flight was in the evening and I was arriving back in the afternoon. Despite not staying another night, they kindly allowed me to leave my luggage with them. When I came back in the evening, everything was safe and smooth—such thoughtful and helpful people. They also arranged a cab from the airport at a much lower cost than Uber, which was a big help. One of the hosts, Samar, said something that really stayed with me: “Don’t worry, you are coming from one home to another.” And honestly, that’s exactly how he and the entire team made me feel. Highly recommended for anyone looking for warmth, care, and genuine hospitality.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and had a lovely stay. The team were always happy to help with anything and made sure my stay was comfortable. The rooftop is spacious and a nice way to escape the busy streets below. Vicky, a local driver who helps out there, was incredibly gracious and welcoming, and was a great guide around the city. He also helped me to catch a quick bus when my Volvo was cancelled. Many thanks team!

The hostel and its staff were very accommodating. I traveled here after sustaining an injury, and the staff helped to get me well-situated. The chef cooked awesome meals plus gave good advice about the area. Vicky the driver/guide took several others and I on a tour to the border ceremony. He is an exemplary guide with a good sense of humor, in-depth knowledge about Punjabi history and culture, and goes above and beyond to make sure travelers are well-taken care of.
