ITC Mughal, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Agra

The hotel, location and service is great! Sinil our room cleaner took great care of our suite. Edit my to my first review below After the hotel became aware of our issues - they did everything thing in their power to set things right. The miss communication was that our travel agent asked for a suite. The hotel does not have an handicap suite but it does have handicap standard rooms. So it's a good place for people with disabilities to go. And it is a very good place to stay The problem with the room is we asked for a handicap accessible room. But the bathroom room was inaccessible for a person in a wheelchair which is what we needed. When I asked about accessibility they told me our room was considered accessible for handicap persons. Therefore for an able bodied it's a wonderful place to stay, for handicap person I would recommend looking for a different hotel.

I returned to this hotel after a gap of 17 years. I had fond memories but was disappointed in a lot of ways. Smooth. Receptionist was helpful to accommodate us in lounge even though we reached late. We were upgraded to a suite but the suite was unclean, sofa old, bath tub dirty, commode overflowing with each wash. The bathroom floors are made of marble and with little bit of water becomes dangerously slippery. Service was quick. We ordered some food but we’re not charged for it during checkout. I asked them to put it on my bill but somehow they couldn’t locate it even after checking with the restaurant. I was told “consider it complimentary”. Lovely flute playing during the breakfast. Breakfast spread was average at best. The service at the restaurant was too little, too late. I asked for a baby chair 3 times but only got it after 20 minutes of holding my child in my arms. A request for coffee also took 20 plus minutes We had heard great things about the Spa and while the spa was satisfactory, their billing machine was not working and we were asked to pay in cash. Hotel has seen better days and still has potential but there was a general lack of management in almost all spheres. May be it’s a new management or may be they are resource constrained but they could certainly do better.

Our stay at the ITC Mughal was defined by the incredible people who work there. While the property has its pros and cons, the warmth of the hospitality is what truly stays with you. The Standout Highlight: Peshawri We had an exceptional dining experience at Peshawri. A huge thank you to Om, the manager, who is a real character—his humor and kindness made our evening so much fun. Our waiter, Udayveer, was equally fantastic, providing attentive and professional service that didn't miss a beat. They are a credit to the ITC brand! The Vibe & Grounds: The hotel’s common areas are lovely. The lobby and the sprawling grounds are well-maintained and provide a peaceful escape from the hustle of Agra. We also really enjoyed the bar and lounge area; the live music created a wonderful, sophisticated atmosphere to unwind in. Safety & Security: As a traveler, peace of mind is important, and this hotel feels incredibly secure. The gates and the visible presence of guards outside made us feel completely safe throughout our stay. Rooms: If there is one area for improvement, it’s the rooms. They feel a bit dated and are definitely due for a renovation. Given the high turnover of guests visiting the Taj Mahal, it’s understandable that they see a lot of wear and tear, but a refresh would bring them up to the high standard of the rest of the hotel. Overall: Come for the incredible staff and the great food at Peshawri, and enjoy the beautiful grounds. With a room upgrade, this place would be unbeatable!

ITC Mughal in Agra was a true hidden gem for us. We were genuinely torn between staying here and The Oberoi Amarvilas. It is undeniably one of the premier properties in India, largely because of its Taj Mahal views. However, after seeing photos from a friend who visited recently, it became clear that air quality and smog significantly diminish that view. That made our decision much easier. Choosing ITC Mughal was absolutely the right call. The property is serene, with beautiful grounds and a calm, understated elegance. It feels removed from the chaos and gives you space to breathe. The staff are gracious, attentive, and consistently thoughtful. Our concierge handled all transportation and arranged our Taj Mahal visit with an English speaking guide. He ensured the guide was engaging and especially attentive to my 13 year old son, which made the experience far more meaningful for our family. Dinner at Peshawri was unforgettable. The Sikandari Raan is a must. It was the most tender, flavorful, perfectly prepared leg of lamb I have ever had. Their two step marination and tandoor roasting process creates something truly special. Even if you are not staying at the hotel, it is worth coming here just for that dish. Breakfast was equally impressive. Expansive selection, excellent quality, and a team that was genuinely warm and attentive. I am extremely pleased with our decision and would return without hesitation. If air quality improves in the future, I am sure The Oberoi Amarvilas would also deliver a spectacular experience. But for this trip, ITC Mughal was exactly the right choice.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff’s behavior was exceptional—courteous, attentive, and kind. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. The breakfast was super delicious with a great variety and excellent taste. The hotel is very kid-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were big, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The highlight for us was the wonderful puppet show and traditional dance performances, which gave a lovely cultural experience. Being a heritage property, the hotel has a unique charm and beautifully reflects tradition along with comfort. The location is another big advantage—it is very close to the Taj Mahal and Sadar Bazaar market, which was awesome and made sightseeing and shopping very convenient. Truly a memorable stay and highly recommended.
